“To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.”- Chinese proverb
Through studying Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) at St. Luke’s, pupils will develop a deeper understanding of different cultures around the world. Additionally, pupils will develop the resilience and skills to communicate with others in a second language which will help them to become more articulate in their mother tongue. They will see language learning skills not just as the ability to speak a different language, but as the ability to communicate with a variety of people from different places effectively and this will hopefully set them up with an enthusiasm for continuing to learn languages at KS3 and beyond.
