Geography

at St Luke's CE Primary School

At St Luke’s we believe that ‘every child is a potential geographer’. This represents the purpose of our teaching and learning across the whole school, inspiring our children to want to know more and understand more about their local area and the world around them. Through effective curriculum planning we aim to develop our pupils’ geographical knowledge and skills.

Geography curriculum aims;

  • Children will build connections to local, national and world geography; building comparisons and recognising the importance of Salford to the wider world.
  • Children will gain a deep understanding of the human impact on Geography and consider the future of our planet.
  • Children will be confident in a variety of geographical skills, ensuring that they leave St Luke’s with the ability to explore the wider world.
  • Wherever possible, children will answer geographical questions through visits and experiences.
